The streaking Blackcats are ready for a key matchup going into week 3, hosting the Jefferson BlueJays. After 2 weeks of play, the Blackcats (2-0) are led by Lucas Bahr 2nd in overall points in the region with 50 (8 TDs, 1 2pt. Conversion) and Jackson Dearing 3rd in the region in passing (17/32, 453 yards, 7 TDs, 1 int, 152.08 PR) They look to continue their winning ways, while the Jefferson BlueJays (1-1) are coming off of a big win over Cuba 35-8.

We caught up with Coach Blane Boss during our brand new show, “Upon Further Review” last week to talk about the importance of momentum coming off of their week 1 42-6 win over Windsor. “We’re excited about the momentum being developed in the first week. And we want to continue to keep that momentum by staying healthy and keeping the attitude of good execution.” which boded well for Herculaneum in week 2 vs. Fredericktown in a win.

Both Jefferson and Herculaneum have played Fredericktown already this early in the season with the Blackcats winning 22-14 while Jefferson came up short 6-3 in week 1. This will be an intriguing matchup since Herculaneum hasn’t beaten the BlueJays since 2015. Will they claw their way to a victory in week 3?
